A new study has revealed the dangers of sharing Viagra with minors.

The research by the British Medical Journal has found that Viagra can cause serious side effects in children. It is especially dangerous for young men, since it can make it harder for them to have sex.

The drug has also been shown to cause birth defects in unborn babies.

The study has been conducted by researchers from the British Medical Journal, which was based in London.

Viagra, which is marketed under the brand name Addyi, was discovered in a bottle in a secret room at a house in Sandwich, Kent.

Doctors who received the drug during a sexual encounter told the BBC the drug can make a woman’s genitals flaccid, which can make it hard for her to have sex.

But the researchers found that even young men with no sexual desire or education problems could get Viagra.

Dr Peter Waddington, a consultant sexual health doctor at the University of Sheffield, said: “Our findings suggest that Viagra can make a woman’s genitals flaccid, making it harder for a woman to have sex.

“When you have sex with a man with a little bit of desire, the flaccid genitals can be very difficult to get and keep.”

Viagra is a prescription medication for men who have low sexual desire and don’t want to have sex, or for anyone with a known hypersensitivity to the drug.

The drug may also make a man lose confidence, or get an erection, if he doesn’t have sexual contact with his partner, or if he does.

Dr Waddington said: “It could be an issue if a man with a lot of desire or education problems who is taking Viagra doesn’t have sexual contact with his partner and the partner has experienced problems getting or keeping an erection.

“However, if the man with a lot of desire or education problems who is taking Viagra doesn’t have sexual contact with his partner and the partner has experienced problems getting or keeping an erection, the issue could be a sexual disorder.”

The report has been funded by the British Medical Journal.

A spokesman for the University of Bristol, which funded the research, confirmed the study was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. He added that the drug is safe and effective, and that it will be used by both men and women to improve their sexual performance.

Viagra was not found to cause sexual dysfunction in children.

Professor David Hirsch, an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Imperial College London, said: “It’s very important for young people to have a conversation about what’s normal and what’s not. There is a lot of stigma around Viagra and many people who are worried about their health are unaware of the risks and there are no medications or health advice.

“It’s important for young people to ask questions about Viagra and talk about their problems and their health. We have the highest quality data on this, and we’ve also tested the data on children.

“In some cases, Viagra can cause a very serious problem in children. In the UK, Viagra is sold by prescription only.

“Viagra should not be given to children, especially young people, who have a condition called Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, or HSDD, which is a condition that affects women of reproductive age.”

A study published in the journal JAMA Obstetrics and Gynecology showed that Viagra can lead to very serious side effects in men, such as headaches, dizziness, nausea and breast tenderness.

It is also a drug used to treat certain diseases, such as the brain disorder schizophrenia, a condition where a person cannot make enough of a living through their normal functioning.

Professor Waddington said: “Viagra should not be given to children, especially young people, who have a condition called Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, or HSDD, which affects women of reproductive age.

“This is not a medical condition, it’s a problem that is already present in young men, so we need to treat it with medicine and make sure the person has a clear medical history.”

A spokesperson for the drug’s manufacturer, Pfizer, said it was aware of the study but did not comment on it.

Interactions

A. Top Drug-Drug Interactions:

1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).

2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.

3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.

Other Drug-Drug interactions:

  • Ketoconazole, itraconazole (used to manage fungal infection)
  • Protease inhibitors (used to manage HIV infection) Ex. ritonavir, lopinavir
  • Phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine (medicines used for fits)
  • Rifampicin, erythromycin, clarithromycin (medicines used for bacterial infections)
  • Other medicines used to improve blood flow to the penis (Ex. sildenafil)

B. Drug-Food Interactions:

Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:

  1. Grapefruit and Grapefruit Juice: Grapefruit can increase the levels of tadalafil in your blood by interfering with its metabolism. This may amplify side effects, such as headaches, dizziness, or low blood pressure. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Cialis.
  2. Alcohol: Drinking alcohol with Cialis can enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects of the medication, leading to symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Limiting alcohol intake is recommended while using Cialis.
  3. High-Fat Meals: While Cialis can be taken with or without food, consuming it with a high-fat meal may delay its onset of action. Opt for lighter meals if rapid effectiveness is needed.
  4. Caffeine: Though not a direct interaction, combining Cialis with high caffeine intake might worsen side effects like headaches or increase heart rate in sensitive individuals.
